Telangana Committee next week: Chidambaram

Home
Minister P Chidambaram announced on Thursday that a committee on Telangana would be formed in a week.

“We are sticking to our word. We will have the names more or less finalised by the end of this week and perhaps by early next week, you will have the committee announced,” Chidambaram said.

The political representatives from Telangana had set January 28 as the deadline for the Centre to announce a timeframe for the formation of the new state. And they had threatened to resign enmasse in case Centre failed to keep its promise. The Centre’s latest move comes as if to pre-empt the mass resignations.

Congress representatives from Telangana claim the announcement is a definite move forward but the other members of the political Joint Action Committee (JAC) are far from impressed.

“Today’s statement is not at all to our satisfaction. We expected a statement that would clearly indicate a timeframe for formation of Telangana. On 29th, the people’s representatives should submit their resignations and declare non-cooperation. That programme stands,” said Professor Kodandaram, Convenor, Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC).

Chidambaram, in the meeting with political parties from Andhra Pradesh on January 5, had said that its agenda was to “deliberate on the mechanism and lay down a road map for consultations” on the Telangana issue.

The meeting followed Chidambaram’s statement on December 23, 2009 when the government put on back burner the formation of the separate state for which it had on December 9, 2009 promised to initiate the process.

On law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh, the Home Minister said much of the agitation has cooled down while there are some protests here and there.

“My greatest regret is that a couple of students reportedly committed suicide. That, I think, should have been completely avoided. Why should children commit suicide. Parents, teachers have responsibility to stop this. But keeping that apart, by and large, things are peaceful there. There is no major law and order violation. We are sticking to our words,” he said.

Delhi Metro to introduce additional train on Dwarka line

Delhi Metro today introduced one additional train on the Dwarka Line, the “most heavily crowded” line in the new age transport system.

With this, the number of trains on the Dwarka Sector-9 to Noida City Centre/Anand Vihar, have increased to 43.

“This line is the most heavily crowded line and is also the longest line in operation at present carrying 48 per cent of the total ridership on the Metro system,” a DMRC spokesperson said.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, which had 41 trains at the time of inauguration of the Anand Vihar extension on 7th January, added one additional train on 18th January.

With the introduction of today’s train, the DMRC will be able to run seventy eight additional train trips between Yamuna Bank and Dwarka everyday with thirty nine of these trips running further up to Noida City Centre and the remaining thirty nine trips going till Anand Vihar as only alternate trains go towards these two destinations after Yamuna Bank.

The introduction of this additional train will enable DMRC to reduce congestion on Line-3/4 as over ninety thousand persons will be accommodated everyday on these seventy eight trips, the spokesperson said.

It is expected that a further additional train will be added in another 10 days to further ease the traffic.

PM apologises for remarks by a Cong member against Vajpayee

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday apologised to the Lok Sabha on behalf of the government for certain “undesirable” remarks by a Congress member against former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

“Yesterday I was not present in the House. I have heard some undesirable remarks were made by a member of the ruling coalition which was inappropriate.

“On behalf of our government, I apologise to the House,” Dr Singh, who returned last night after a three-day visit to Russia, said.

BJP and allies had on Tuesday created pandemonium in the House after Beni Prasad Verma (Congress) used demeaning remarks against Vajpayee forcing two adjournments.

The NDA members were agitated when Verma used a derogatory word against the former Prime Minister during a debate on the Liberhan Commission report and demanded an apology from him.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the report of Ranganath Misra Committee, which went into the issue of reservation for minorities, will be placed in Parliament during this session.

“We will place the report on the table of the House in this session,” Dr Singh said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

His assurance came after Samajwadi Party members led by Mulayam Singh Yadav and others demanded that the report be tabled immediately.

The Prime Minister said, “I take note of this matter and we will place the report on the table of the House.”

Opposition members had raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday demanding that the government make public the report which, they said, was freely available under the RTI Act.

The Ranganath Committee is understood to have recommended reservation for minorities in employment, higher education and economic and developmental schemes funded by the government.

delhi metronation has learnt this after accessing the autopsy report of Karkare, who was chief of Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

The autopsy report says there were eight bullet marks on Karkare’s body: four on the top of the right shoulder, one in on the back of the right shoulder and three on the right chest. One bullet was found in his left kidney and another in the right of his liver.

The bullets in the ATS chief’s body make it clear that the bulletproof jacket he was wearing did not offer him protection.

, earlier on Wednesday, had reported that the Maharashtra government has told Karkare’s wife the jacket was misplaced on the night of November 26 and has now been declared lost.

Quake and Tsunami Predicted on July 22 2009

tsunami_wave_coming_now_too_late11

Hello there. I just wanted to let you know that please stay away from the beaches all around in the month of July. There is a prediction that there will be another tsunami or earthquake hitting on 22 July 2009. It is also when there will be sun eclipse. Predicted that it is going to be really bad and countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are going to be badly hit. Please try and stay away from the beaches in July. Better to be safe than sorry. Please pass the word around. Please also pray for all beings.

Quake and Tsunami Predicted 22 July 2009

The eclipse quake theory is as follows, When the gravitational force of the sun and moon are both pulling on a plate that has not had series of recent earth quakes, the extra pull is all that is needed to “pop the seam” and cause a major quake.

Japans tectonic plates

6+ Magnitude Quake on 22 July 2009 at 3:00 pm Local Japanese time. This will be follower by two level
5+ Earthquakes and a Tsunami between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The tsunami will start out in the pacific ocean (to the South East of Japan … Along the fault line) and hit all the islands to the south west of Japan, Indonesia and even reach New Zealand. The major quakes will actually be along the fault lines in the Ocean.

The theory that the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon pulling together will do the following things.
1. Lift the tectonic plates

2. Cause the tide to rise more than usual
3. Cause an underground molten magma tide to dip and raise the plates following the water tide.

Taken all the time data from the Nasa eclipse  site into an excel spread sheet four the four tectonic plates in the region. Assumed an hour delay for each event following the lunar eclipse, and then summed the values. I assumed that the events would last longer for the fluids, water and molten magma than for dry land. And then summed the values four all 4 plates where Japan sits.

The blue path above shows the lunar path that will achieve the full solar eclipse at around 11:30 am to
12:30 pm. Red dots show where the solar eclipse will be full.

The theory is based on gravitation pull and the earth’s tectonic plates

A solar eclipse means that the moon is blocking the sun. The moon has enough gravitational pull to cause the tides other natural phenomena on earth. The sun has enough gravitational pull to keep the earth in orbit. The theory is that during a solar eclipse, the moon has the Sun’s added pull on the earth’s tectonic plates. When the Sun and Moon are together on one side of the planet, they pull together and lift up the earth’s tectonic plate, just beneath the eclipse. This causes the plate to shift upward, and then an earth quake when the lifted plate gets the little extra push (lift) it needed to move over its neighboring plate. The theory may be hair brained, or it might actually have some pull to it. (pun intended) I’d like to do a simulator game to find out.

Online Documents for the Eclipse Quake Theory
The closest thing you find online (in reference to the eclipse earthquake theory) is this one:  India planetary
angular momentum theory.
The problem is, its not exactly the same theory… its not a “solar eclipse” causing the earthquake, its the moon inline with the gravitational pull of the other planets.

Making the simulator

The TGEA model earth would be a basic dts sphere. It would then have some curved meshes (dts objects) mounted to on it to simulate the shifting continental plates. The model earth and moon would respond to real game physics for gravity to simulate an orbit. The dts mesh plates would also respond to the gravitational pull of the sun and moon. In the TGEA simulation, the sun could simply be a fixed gravitational spot (and source of light).

Some plates are known to be on top, and others to be on the bottom where they meet, so this is kind of important. To do it right, the tectonic plate meshes would need to have collision detection much bet ter than a simple bounding box. It can’t be built to actual scale (distance between a scaled down version of the earth and moon is too great for a basic TGEA map), and the physics can only approximate the real pull… but a basic approximation of the theory could be done.

Pre-warning helps one to be prepared for emergencies. Emergency Preparedness helps in preventing personal disasters. Be prepared to take care of your family, especially the children.

Kindly dissipate the Flood Warning given below to as many Mumbaites, New Mumbaites and

Thaneites as possible

Floods - 2009: Mumbai

Floods in Mumbai are attributable to simultaneous occurrence of rainfall and high tides. If the

rainfall is in excess of 200 mm in a day (24 hrs) the floods can occur anytime irrespective of the tides. However, if there is moderate rainfall but the tides are in excess of 4.50 meters at the same time, the city of Mumbai is sure to get flooded.

Accordingly, heavy floods are anticipated on the following days in Mumbai, if there is excessive rainfall at the time of high tides, since the tides are extremely high on these days:

It is heard that BMC has already planned to keep the schools closed on 24 July 2009 since the

tide level is record high of last 100 years on this day.

Mumbaites are, therefore, requested to cooperate with the administration by restricting their movements and certainly not to take their vehicles out on the roads these days.

There are speculations about very high waves on 22 July 2009 due to solar eclipse. Public should, therefore, keep away from the beaches that day.

Also, please advise your friends and relatives outside Mumbai not to plan a trip to

Mumbai on these days.

Mumbaites are, therefore, requested to cooperate with the administration by restricting their

movements and certainly not to take their vehicles out on the roads these days.

Normalcy returning to Lalgarh : WB govt

074With the operations by security forces entering the fifth day on Wednesday to reclaim areas taken over by Maoist-backed tribals at Lalgarh in West Midnapore district, the West Bengal govt on Wednesday said that the situation was returning to normal.

“I think the situation is returning to normal in Lalgarh. I have talked to the local people. I have heard their grievances. I feel if we all work together, normalcy will return soon,” West Bengal Chief Secretary Asok Mohan Chakraborty told newsmen at a helipad next to the Lalgarh police station.

Asked how long the operations would continue, Chakraborty said, “The forces are here. It will depend on them and their commanders. It is not for me to comment on.”

Posed with the same question, IGP (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia said “the operations are on.”

Asked why the operations did not appear to be visible, Kanojia said “We are not conducting operations to make it visible to you.”

With six truckloads of rice arriving, the chief secretary said from Thursday, besides rice, dal and potatoes would be provided free to displaced villagers and in relief camps for which the Block Developmetn Officer has been given instructions.

Maoists, Chakraborty said, were trying to pressurise the villagers to stay away from relief camps and rice distribution centres.

“I talked to the local people and asked them to defeat the designs of the Maoists,” Chakraborty said.

During the visit of the chief secretary, who arrived by helicopter, thousands of people queued up at the BDO’s office for receiving six kilos of rice each.

“The people of the area suffered a lot. You can make out that they are in great difficulty,” he said, adding that, people sought jobs, beside food and resumption of transport services.

“Development activities must be started as soon as possible. The prerequisite is to restore confidence in the law and order system. Maoists did not allow government offices, police and ration shops to function. We are trying to restore this,” he said.

Asked for a time frame, he said, “It’s difficult to give any time frame as we have to deal with the villagers who are not our enemies. We have to take them into confidence. It is not possible to give any schedule.”

Asked about the alleged harassment by police, the chief secretary said that the forces have been repeatedly warned not to indulge in activity that might harm villagers.

“The state and central forces have arrived in the interest of villagers and not against them. This must be kept in mind by all,” the chief secretary said.

“There is no rift with villagers. Today also I told them to be very cautious in dealing with villagers.”

Chakraborty also said, “if we get definite information or complaints, we will take strong action.”

Asked if lack of development had led to the agitation by tribals, he said, “if certain sections did not deliver, this is not the way to press demands.

“Killing doctors and nurses, is it protest?” he asked referring to the blowing up of an ambulance in Belpahari by the Maoists in the district in November last year when a doctor and nurse were killed.

“Anyway, we are trying to start with a clean slate.”

The chief secretary, accompanied by DGP (Coordination) arrived after visiting adjoining Purulia and Bankura districts.

In Lalgarh he held a meeting at the BDO’s office with officials and visited the CRPF camp at Ramkrishna Vidyapeeth.

Chakraborty also went to the block hospital and met patients.

He said that health services were being augmented and the hospital would have an air-conditioned ward with 12 beds.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had instructed for augmenting health services, he said.

Iran council asks for more time for vote complaints

June 24, 2009 by anand

026 Iran’s top legislative body urged Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday to extend the deadline to receive complaints of defeated presidential candidates, state television reported.

“We are urging you to allow us to extend the deadline to receive further complaints five more days,” the Guardian Council said in a letter.

The Guardian Council has rejected demands for a rerun from two losing candidates, former prime minister Mousavi and pro-reform cleric Mehdi Karoubi.

The legislative body said the extended deadline would pave the ground for removing any ambiguities over the disputed vote.

“As the legal deadline to review the complaints ends on Wednesday, extending the deadline will help the council to remove ambiguities,” the letter said.

Ten days of protest against elections that confirmed hardline anti-Western President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in office have produced unprecedented protests and a public split in the Islamic establishment.

Defeated candidates accuse the authorities of rigging the election and have demanded a rerun.

Moderate cleric Karoubi, defeated in the 12th June poll, signaled on Tuesday opposition would continue, calling on Iranianas to hold ceremonies on Thursday to mourn those killed at protests. (BJ-24/06)

At least 10 were killed in the worst violence on Saturday, and about seven more early last week.
