Imran Khan jumps off a plan

Bollywood’s celebrity action director Allan Amin made actor Imran Khan jump off a plane onto a moving train in the forthcoming movie Luck.
“In Luck, Imran would be seen jumping from an airplane onto a moving train. It was a brave scene and was shot in Bangkok,” Amin said.
Imran, who won many hearts with his debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Ya, said it was an important scene, but refused to divulge any details about it.
“It is a major scene in the film and we will most probably use it for the promotion of the film. It will be a major part of the film’s publicity campaign so I don’t want to reveal much about the scene,” said Imran.
The scene might bear resemblance to Anil Kapoor’s famous jump in the 1993 movie Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja as well as Hrithik Roshan’s anti-gravity stunt in Dhoom 2 (2006).
Apart from this particular act in Luck, the action director has also choreographed an underwater action scene set in South Africa with Imran and his leading lady Shruti Haasan - the two will be seen swimming with sharks.
Sanjay Dutt, who is also a part of the Soham Shah directed project, will be seen in a spectacular stunt in which he is supposed to run towards fast moving trains - something we saw Aamir Khan doing in Ghulam.
Amin has been in the film industry for the last 25 years and says more actors now prefer to do their own stunts instead of asking for a body double.
“A lot of actors today want to do their stunts for the excitement. Not only the younger lot, even experienced actors like Amitabh Bachchan likes to do stunts on their own. I made Amitabh do one in Aks where he had to jump through a waterfall,” said Amin, who has directed stunts in actioners like Dhoom, Dus, Kaal and Main Hoon Na.
In 2005, he got the Filmfare Award for directing action sequences in Mission Kashmir, which had Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik in lead roles.
Amin is now excited about being a judge on reality show for MTV, where he has to select, train and judge 10 passionate bikers to perform stunts.
“The channel approached me for the show and after being in the industry for so long, I thought this would be something new for me and something very close to my heart - so I agreed. I will be more than happy to teach young kids how to do stunts properly without harming themselves in any way,” he said.
“A lot of youngsters have a passion for bikes and related stunts, but they should first be brave and positive to be able to carry off a stunt well. And then it is my job to make the stunt spectacular and safe,” Amin added.

Girls, romance and controversy are three things Salman Khan will never be rid of.
Rumours of Salman’s alleged affairs with his London Dreams co-star Asin and with the German supermodel Claudia Ciesla, have now taken a new turn.
Recent reports claim that Salman Khan has finally popped the question to his girlfriend of four years, Katrina Kaif.
Salman has been pitched as the most eligible bachelor in the country, even at age 42, and many have wondered when he will finally tie the knot.
Out of all his relationships, the one with Katrina has lasted the longest despite the nearly 20-year age difference, and therefore most people presumed that Katrina will be the chosen one, and now it seems she is.
However, the good news has not made headlines yet because Katrina has reportedly refused to marry Salman, and not just now, but many a times.
Katrina has said that she wants to focus on her career which is going great guns as she is delivering one hit after another, and she doesn’t want her private life to get in the way of that. What she is probably implying is that the appeal of married women is relatively reduced in Bollywood (with the exception of a few like Aishwarya Rai), and so early in her career, she doesn’t want to give it all up.
Let’s hope things work out for them, and Katrina’s repeated refusals don’t push Sallu towards many of the women who would be only too happy to be the arm candy of one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

Forgetting recession and other economic problems, moviegoers worldwide greeted two distinctly different films in a very big way over the weekend. The distributors for Quantum of Solace as well as Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa told trade publications that the movie grosses exceeded their expectations.
The latter, which is showing only in a few countries outside North America, is going to expand in the coming few weeks and the trade expectations for it are very high. In North America, it grabbed a mighty $63 million in three days.
Grabbing the top spot in every country it has been released, the new James Bond [Images] adventure Quantum of Solace grossed a mighty $106.5 million over the weekend, Sony-MGM announced. The film is showing in 60 countries. India contributed $3.5 million of the gross. The film, which is yet to open in Australia [Images], Japan [Images], Spain, Mexico and a few other countries, will start its North American run this Friday. It will be interesting to see if it could unseat the animated hit Escape 2 Africa, the DreamWorks film distributed by Paramount.

Bollywood actress Kajol has been appointed goodwill ambassador and patron of the UK based Loomba Trust, a charity devoted to educating widow’s children, particularly in India.
Kajol was presented a plaque by Cherie Blair, President of Loomba Trust and wife of former British prime minister Tony Blair at Whitehall during a ceremony to celebrate UN International Day of Non-violence commencing on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and Indian festival Diwali last evening.
Describing it as a “great honour”, Kajol, who has starred in hit films like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” said, “I will do my very best to be worthy of this appointment.”
Raj Loomba, who founded the trust in the memory of his late mother, said, “I hope Kajol will bring wealth of support and much needed wealth to our charity.”
The function was attended by India’s High Commissioner to the UK Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, former Mayor Ken Livingstone, Lord Navnit Dholakia- Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords among others.
Cherie Blair said the trust would extend its activities to Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa and Luanda. It has already helped educate 3,500 children of widows in India, she added.
Talking about her recent trip to India, she said, “Not only did I have an opportunity to visit rural India but I also had the chance to spend time with many widows and children supported by the trust.”
Indian High Commissioner Mukherjee praised the efforts of trust for their charity work.
He also extended Diwali greetings to the people of Britain and said that the festival of Diwali had achieved international flavour as it marks the triumph of good over evil.
“Combined with it is the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the birthday of the Mahatma, who spearheaded non-violent Satyagraha which represented courage and strength,” he added.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said, “On Friday , a thriving and diverse London depends on its Indian community. The personal and business links to the great and culturally rich nation of India add to our own society every day.”
“I look forward to strengthening my own ties to India and continuing my support of the Trust,” he added.
Remembering the message of peace that Gandhi advocated, Loomba said, “Many women throughout the world have lost their husbands through violence.
It seems fitting that on this day we commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, an apostle of Non-Violence.”

Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have moved to Germany after leaving the French chateau they called home for the last five months.
The couple and their six children left the country on Sep 23, landing at Berlin’s Tempelhof airport, according to reports.
Reports state the family will be staying in Germany for about 90 days in a villa south of the capital city.
Pitt is due to begin filming the new Quentin Tarantino film Inglorious Bastards there next month.
They would be staying at a 30,000 square-foot mansion, Palais Parkschloss on Wannsee Lake, that boasts a private helicopter-landing pad, a dock and a full security system equipped with a staff of 14 bodyguards.
